Since the end of NaNo, I’ve been pretty bad about staying active in the loosely-organized writing communities that I am part of. I’ve almost entirely neglected my blog, and haven’t done much posting (or thinking) about writing since midnight on December 1st.
Well, that’s about to change.
I understand why it happened, and don’t think it’s a bad thing. NaNo is such a whirlwind time, and when that stops, having some time to step back and just breathe is very nice. My brother also got married this past weekend, which has kept me more than a little bit busy.
But I am a writer and want to be an author (see here for what I mean), which means this needs to be my focus again. So, let me focus.
For the rest of December, that mostly means plugging back in and setting myself up for success. My blog needs a makeover and a bit of an organizational improvement, and I need to get stories ready to edit. That will be my focus for next year, along with new content (I’m unsure of how much I want to try for there). I also want to connect with more writers, so you writers out there that blog, comment and leave me a link to your blog in the comments, so that I can follow.
I’m the kind of guy who never really has enough time for everything, because there is so much that I want to do and be. Overriding all others, though, is this pull to write. If it’s going to take up that much of my time and energy, I might as well try to get good at it, so this is me refocusing to do that.
Wish me luck! And don’t freak out if the blog changes a little between this visit and the next.
