It’s been weeks since I last posted an entry, I know. So much has happened since then, so much that I want to write about and do justice to, but I can’t. I don’t have the words, writer though I am.
The weekend before last, I went to a rock show in NC (Carolina Rebellion). It was…well, if you’ve been then you understand, and if you don’t I’m not sure that I could tell you about the impact of it. The way the music can blow you away completely. The feeling of the crowd, the energy of the music.
It was incredible. I’m still recovering, though I’m listening to Halestorm again, so that’s a good sign.
Last weekend was the 11/11/11 Reunion tour, which mostly consisted of hanging out with NaNo friends and spiking Squeeze-Its and juice boxes. There were Power Rangers movies (multiple) and much Rock Band. It was a good weekend away.
I haven’t been writing, really at all. And no, I don’t want to talk about it (which is another reason for the lack of posts, since this is in large part a writing journal).
So instead of anything meaningful that I have to say, I’m going to leave you with a quote. I found it on tumblr attributed to William Shakespeare, which I doubted immediately, and which a good friend of mine affirmed with a little research. Apparently, it is translated from Turkish poetry (possibly street poetry?), and the author will never likely be known due to the oral tradition.
So anyhow, here it is:
“You say that you love rain, but you open your umbrella when it rains. You say that you love the sun, but you find a shadow spot when the sun shines. You say that you love the wind, but you close your windows when wind blows. This is why I am afraid, you say that you love me too.”
